Suzuki Equator- The Best Truck By the Company

Suzuki Equator ranks 4th among the compact pickup trucks. The truck mostly got mixed reviews from the users because of equally received plus and negative evidences regarding its performance. Though it is more recognized and has more attractive features than its competitors, still some things are lacking behind. The main competitor present in the market for Suzuki Equator is Toyota Tacoma and Honda Ridgeline. Tacoma, because of its loading capacity and powerful engine has made its market well. Similarly, Ridgeline has been acknowledged very well due to its smooth driving and safety point of view.

Coming to this truck, it is a mid-size pickup truck. It is available in two trim levels. One is the four door crew cab or two door extended cab. The power of the engine is less as compared to its counterparts with a mid-size standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. The horsepower (hp) produce by this engine is just 152 which is less. Optionally one can have a 4.0-liter V6 engine which produces 261 hp more than the standard one. The engine is much criticized and has been regarded as in-efficient fuel user. Both of these trim levels are available in two forms. One is the 4 wheel drive (4WD), which is preferred more by the users. Second is the rear wheel drive (RWD).

If we talk about the power transmission, same two options are available in this case too. There can be a 5-speed manual in the Equator or a 5-speed automatic transmission mechanism. As the engine is a bit smaller so the mileage is somewhat good, with 19 mpg in the cities and 23 mpg during the long drive. Moving to its other features it has a got a powerful air conditioning system. A four speaker audio system has also been placed. Usually the trucks have standard 6 speaker audio system, so Suzuki Equator is lacking behind in the regard.

The suspensions are quite strong and enable the rider to sense a comfortable drive. From the safety perspective, air bags have also been placed. Despite all of these features, Suzuki Equator has got an average recognition. Some users review reflects that it is a clone of Nissan’s midsize Frontier pickup. This is due to the reason that Suzuki is not known for production line in the field of trucks or pickups.

Most of criticize has been focused on the interior of the truck. The reviews of the users are on the bottom side. Most of the users consider the interior of Suzuki Equator that it is ill equipped. But on the same side some customers praised the easy to use interior features which are easy to clean also. Actually the point, where the good and the bad meet at the same point, is where when one talks about the material that has been used in the interior designing. That is for sure that it is of low quality.

Looking at the warranty package by Suzuki for this product is a bit on lower side. Mostly, 5 year warranty is supplied by the companies while in some cases 10 year warranty is also been supplies. But in case of Suzuki Equator, they only provide 3-year/36,000-mile warranty. Suzuki Pakistan does not offer this truck sales in the country. This may repel the customers to consider this truck for their usage. For an average customer, Suzuki Equator may seem fascinating but for the old players of the market, there is nothing ‘special’ for them in this pickup truck. So in my opinion, it ranks with 6.5 out of 10 points.
